Gretchen Messenger entered the world of retirement and life planning in 1997 as a long-term care insurance specialist with John Hancock Life Insurance Company, after experiencing incapacity issues with her father and later with her grandmother.
Gretchen works with families and small businesses to help them understand and plan for the challenges associated with long-term care and aid them in developing a plan to handle the expenses associated with the aging process and long-term care. This passion has led her to educate and assist people in all stages of life in planning for their later years on a larger scale, including housing considerations, income, medical expenses and transportation, to name a few. In addition to working with the firm’s clients, Gretchen is a director of Who’s Watching Mom?, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to focusing on the needs of an aging population.
Gretchen enjoys assisting families with long-term care insurance claims and arranging for services that provide respite to family and caregivers. Gretchen meets with individuals and groups privately or by hosting group events. Gretchen has appeared on local senior radio programs and has been a guest speaker of local and state organizations, including the National Association of Retired Federal Employees – Minnesota Chapters, and the Minnesota Senior Federation.
